MANTEO — William Arthur Hall, aged 84, of Manteo, NC died peacefully on February 19, 2023. He was born on October 6, 1938, in Washington, DC.
William, Bill to his friends, had a storied military career in the United States Marine Corps that spanned 22 years from 1961 to 1983. He served two tours In Vietnam where he was awarded numerous medals for valor. Bill retired from the military in 1983 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Following his military career, Bill spent years as a successful real estate agent in northern Virginia before retiring to the Outer Banks to enjoy his retirement.
An avid and accomplished fisherman, his favorite days were spent trying to land the big drum with his fishing buddies. Bill loved physical fitness, and his daily trip to the gym was super important to him.
Bill loved his only son Chris and granddaughter Skye beyond measure and enjoyed spending time having family dinners and teaching Skye to fish.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan and Mary Hall; and his beloved wife, Carol Hall.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Hall (Jamie); granddaughter, Skye Carol Hall; and his brother, Tom Hall and family.
Friends are invited to gather and share memories of Bill at Twiford Colony Chapel, 500 Budleigh Street, Manteo on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 10:00 am. A short graveside burial with military honors will follow at 11:00 am at Roanoke Island Memorial Gardens.
Friends are invited to stop back at Bill’s house, 1163 Burnside Road, Manteo, following the burial for a quick bite and a Bud Light… Bill requested that we let anyone attending know that the dress is “casual fishing clothes – no ties!!!”
