December 16th, 2020, marks the 150th anniversary of the lighting of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, the National Park Service is holding virtual celebrations for the sesquicentennial.
Despite closures and restrictions implemented as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Cape Hatteras National Seashore has so far had a banner year in terms of visitation.
