At its Feb. 4 meeting, the Dare Board of Commissioners honored the volunteers of the Cape Hatteras United Methodist Men for 41 years of service to the community on Hatteras Island, during which they have provided 19,000 meals and $2 million in assistance to people in need. Board Chairman Bob Woodard read a Certificate of Appreciation recognizing their ‘commitment to community service’ and commending ‘the dedicated and devoted volunteers…for making a world of difference in our community and in the lives of those they have helped.’
